Amazon Prime Day is a two-day sale event where Prime subscribers can find hundreds of exclusive deals on products available at the online retailer, although there are plenty of other discounts for non-members. This year Prime Day is set for July 12th and 13th, but you can already get some pretty cool deals on some of our favorite things. From Amazon Fire-enabled TVs and speakers to third-party devices, here are some of our favorite Prime Day 2022 deals.
Special Offer for Gear Readers: Get One 1 year subscription for WIRED for $5 ($25 off). This includes unlimited access to WITH CABLEcom and our print magazine (if you wish). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.

This is our favorite TV for most people (9/10, WIRED Recommends), and this is the lowest price we’ve ever tracked for the 55-inch model. It features a quantum dot panel for bright colors and uses local dimming zones for deeper blacks in your movies and shows. It has a built-in Roku interface and the Micro-LED backlight provides exceptional contrast. This offer is also available at Walmart.
This is one of the most beautiful TVs we’ve tested. The bezels are super thin, the OLED panel is fantastic and delivers deep blacks and rich colors, and it has an Android TV interface, which means you can stream from your phone too. It has weird feet on the ends so it’s best to mount it on the wall unless you have a big TV stand.
This is a basic Hisense TV, but we like the brand and are confident in its build quality, unlike some of the other generic Amazon TVs we haven’t tested. You get support for Dolby Vision high dynamic range (read: prettier colors) and a built-in Fire TV for streaming your favorite Amazon shows.
If you’re shopping for an extra-large display, this is one of the best discounts we’ve seen on a 75-inch model in months. It comes with Fire TV on board for easy streaming and Amazon shopping, plus full-array local dimming means black levels and highlights will look better than on cheaper displays.

We’re big fans of the Pixel 6 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends), which takes great photos, especially with its 4X optical telephoto camera. It has a beautiful 120 Hz OLED screen and is packed with smart software features that make using this phone a joy. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro might be on the way later this year, but it’s still a good buy that will last a while.
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is an excellent high-end Android phone. It excels in almost every category and will even get Android version updates longer than the aforementioned Google Pixel (strange, considering Google maintains the Android OS). The S22 is a good size, and this sale is in the version with 256 gigabytes of storage. If you want a bigger phone, the S22 Ultra is on sale for $1,000. It has a spectacular 10X optical zoom camera that allows you to take sharp pictures of distant objects.
The A53 5G (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has pretty much all the features most people need, including 5G, NFC for contactless payments, over a day of battery life, IP67 water resistance, and a card slot. Micro SD. It then takes it a step further with high-end perks like a 120 Hz AMOLED display, four OS updates, and 5 years of security updates. At this price, it’s an exceptional value.
WIRED Senior Associate Editor Adrienne So calls the Apple Watch SE (8/10, WIRED Recommends) the best Apple Watch for most people, which makes this a solid time to grab it at a discount. It doesn’t have all the health features of the high-end Apple Watch Series 7, but it does have most of the ones that matter on a day-to-day basis. Read our Apple Watch guide for more details.
The M1 chip brought a remarkable and quick departure from Apple’s old Intel processors, allowing those working on the move a little more power for photo editing, music production and a zillion Chrome tabs. There’s a new MacBook Air on the way next month (it’ll cost a little more than the current version), but this 2020 model (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is still excellent.
The Pixelbook Go is getting a little old, but it’s still a great, no-frills laptop. It’s a Chromebook, so it’s just a great choice for anyone who can work completely outside of the Chrome browser (although Android apps are available from the Google Play Store). Read our Best Chromebooks guide for more details.
You’ll need to buy the keyboard attachment to get the most out of this little Windows laptop (any Bluetooth keyboard will work too). The Surface Go 3 isn’t very powerful, but it’s good enough for simple tasks like browsing the web, sending emails, editing documents, and watching YouTube.
Amazon Device Deals
If you’re in a hurry, these are some solid discounts on hardware made by Amazon. However, it’s important to know that these devices are likely to drop a lot more on Prime Day itself. Check out our Best Amazon Smart Speaker, Best Smart Display, and Best Streaming Stick guides to learn more.
I love Echo Dots (8/10, WIRED Recommends) more than any other smart speaker. They’re small, sound great, and work perfectly for sleep sounds, timers, and a quick weather check. On the last main day, the price dropped to $25, so it’s worth the wait. Be sure to read our guide on How to make your Amazon Echo as private as possible.
Have you ever been annoyed by not finding that favorite show or movie? Amazon is probably your best bet because it has so many rental and purchase options (in addition to free Amazon Prime Video content). The included voice remote makes things even easier in terms of navigation. This device is likely to drop to $25 on Prime Day. Overall, we still like Google’s Roku and Chromecast better. With Google TV streaming, be sure to check out our full recommendations before committing to one.
This is the lowest price we’ve ever tracked for the Fire TV Cube. If you want to control your entire home theater system using your voice, the Fire TV cube is a good choice. Just connect all your players and game systems to your cube and use voice commands to turn things on and off. Although, as we noted in our review, things aren’t always so smart.
The Echo Show 15 is a great way to put photos of loved ones on the wall, and the Echo Show 5 is a great way to set timers, follow recipes, and check the weather. I like to use one in the living room on the wall, and the other in my kitchen. Read our Best Smart Display guide for more options.
