The untold and often tragic story of Puerto Rican boy band Menudo — whose members were kicked out of programming when they turned 16 — is chronicled in the four-part HBO Max docuseries. Menudo: Forever Young. Although the group’s most successful solo star Ricky Martin is not involved, directors Ángel Manuel Soto (Kings of the Enchanted City) and Kristofer Rios (Skate days in Havana) interview many former members to discuss Menudo’s legacy – from the glow of the global sensation, to sadly familiar stories of the physical, verbal and sexual abuse they allegedly suffered at the hands of his manager. — Lyndsey Parker

STREAM IT: Spoiled young adults receive a crash course in adulthood in snowflake mountain

Remember Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie the simple life and then, Filthy Rich: Cattle Ridewhich had pre-Keeping up with the Kardashians star Kourtney? Like those early reality shows, snowflake mountain is based on the premise of spoiled, lazy young adults being thrown into an unlikely place – in this case, an outdoor survival retreat with no running water or Wi-Fi – where they were driven to go. (They were told they were heading to a 5-star resort to film a glamorous new reality show.) andIn a glamorous destination, the 10 contestants, which include an unemployed 26-year-old who spends $500 of his parents’ money on beauty services every week, compete for cash under the guidance of two ex-military men. “It feels abusive,” says one of the so-called snowflakes in the first episode. Another adds that the experience is the “worst” of his whole life. Pass the popcorn, please, for that quick real-world distraction. — Raechal Shewfelt

Netflix has adapted author Jenna Evans Welch’s 2016 novel into a film starring Susanna Skaggs.stop and catch fire) as Lina, a college student who promises her dying mother that she will spend the summer before college in Rome, which her mother adored. In true romcom style, once Lina is there, she finds herself enjoying the delicious food and breathtaking views – including two potential love interests – all while using her late mother’s diary as a guide. Fiasco called it his “best album” (even comparing it to Nas ilmatic), and Grammy Award-winning engineer Craig Bauer (whose credits include Kanye West late registration and University graduate just like Fiasco himself food and drinks and The cool) has been hailed as “rap album of the decade” – further raising expectations for the Chicago alternative rapper’s first album since 2018.
