Former Disney Channel actor Stoney Westmoreland has been sentenced to two years in federal prison after he was caught trying to lure a 13-year-old boy into internet sex.

According to TMZ, the actor has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of using interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor, and a judge has given him 24 months in prison and 10 years on probation. Westmoreland was arrested in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2018 after authorities said he arranged sex online with someone as young as 13, allegedly communicating through an app used to date and arrange sexual encounters.

Westmoreland, who was in town filming a Disney Channel show, reportedly asked the person to engage in acts with him and send him nude photos. The report cites a statement alleging that Westmoreland sent the person pornographic images. Stoney was using Grindr and was actually communicating with an undercover cop posing as someone else.

Stoney’s attorney claims that Westmoreland thought the exchange was an act with an online adult and that Stoney didn’t really believe he was communicating with a 13-year-old boy. As part of the plea deal, obtained by TMZ, Stoney must register as a sex offender and report all accounts he uses for email and social media to authorities.

Westmoreland played the character of Henry “Ham” Mack in the 2017 Disney Channel show “Andi Mack”.

“Andi Mack” was the first Disney Channel series to feature a gay main character named Cyrus Goodman. The show was praised among LGBTQ activist groups and nominated for multiple GLAAD Media Awards and other media awards for being a show aimed at children ages 6-14 that featured stories like a gay character coming out to their parents.

Westmoreland was fired from the program in 2018 following his arrest, and as a result of his conviction, he is barred from contacting individuals under the age of 18 without adult supervision, meaning he cannot work on the program.

In 2018, Disney commented on Westmoreland’s arrest: “Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of minor employees, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series ending production in his 2018 season.” third season next week.”

This isn’t the first time a Disney-linked actor has been arrested on charges of having sex with minors. Earlier this year, Disney Dumbo actor Joseph Gatt was arrested in California for allegedly engaging in “sexually explicit online communication with a minor across state lines.” He was later cast in Bond.

In March, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced that it had arrested “108 people during a six-day human trafficking campaign” titled Operation March Sadness 2. Among those arrested were several employees of The Walt Disney Company and/or its subsidiaries.

Sheriff Grady Judd said: “Only the arrests of one human trafficker and four child predators make this whole operation worthwhile. The online prostitution industry empowers traffickers and victimizes those being trafficked. Our aim is to identify victims, offer help, find and arrest those who are profiting from the exploitation of human beings. Johns fuel trafficking and victimization. Where there is prostitution, there is exploitation, disease, dysfunction and broken families.”

Disney has also had a public dispute in recent months with the state of Florida over its Parental Rights in Education Act, which prohibits teaching gender identity and transgender ideology to children in kindergarten through third grade.

The bill was designed to prevent teachers and instructors from preparing children for alternative lifestyles at a young and impressionable age.
